Dave Vizard


Dave Vizard provides training on Behaviour Management and Teaching and Learning to Schools and Colleges throughout the UK. He has taught for 30 years, gaining a wide range of experience in Secondary Modern, Grammar and Comprehensive Schools in rural and urban contexts. For 13 years. as a Senior Manager and Head of Upper School, he has developed a range of initiatives relating to Positive Behaviour Management.



Dave has contributed to the work of LEA Working Parties and was seconded for 2 years to an LEA Advisory Post for Behaviour Management. During this time he worked with Educational Psychologist, Rob Long, and they helped schools reduce the number of students excluded, organised and ran a number of successful INSET courses and worked with staff and students in a large number of schools tackling the problems of exclusion. Dave has been invited to join the KS3 Behaviour and Attendance team to prepare materials and also join the writing team for the National Programme for Specialist Leaders of Behaviour and Attendance.



Dave Lectures on the Foundation Degree Course for Teaching Assistants at Plymouth University. He has University Approved Tutor Status at the College of St. Mark and St. John, Plymouth. Dave also provides training for the Learning and Skills Development Agency / Learning Skills Council on the Increased Flexibility Programme. He has worked with Colleges of FE throughout England on Staff Development relating to Behaviour Management and Teaching and Learning. He works extensively with NQTs and is the Affiliated Behaviour Management Consultant for Teach First. He has also been developing international links with schools in Austria, Norway and the USA.



Dave runs Behaviour Solutions, an Educational Consultancy which provides a practical and professional service in promoting positive behaviour management and looks to support schools and colleges in developing their own teaching and learning and behaviour management systems.
